Batu Bolong Temple

The temple of Batu Bolong is farther up the seacoast, just before Senggigi Beach. The temple sits on rocks jutting out to ocean. In clear weather, there’re good panoramas of Bali’s Mt. Agung at sunset. Alas for tourers, virgins are no longer thrown to the sharks from here. A large hole in the rock next to the temple gave it its name: batu means rock and bolong is hole.
